Have questions about the Melrose Community? I visited, lived in, and worked from the Melrose Community in Deep East Oakland between 2018-2023 and came to know and love many good friends and neighbors during that time.

I stepped down as the Beat 27x Community Council Chair in 2021 after helping transition to the Melrose Community Council Chair Veronica Garcia, who currently lives in Melrose and is leading community activities on a daily basis.

I remain involved in community-building activities, though now in Las Vegas, and am committed to helping connect East Oaklanders with opportunities to improve daily lives via connection and community partnerships.

Stay tuned for updates from East Oakland Neighbors (EON) a group we started during COVID which gained a lot of daily momentum, and a lot of new subscribers as we have new news to share with you.

If you’re already on my Melrose Community Newsletter subscriber list, I will use that to communicate about EON, until and if the work develops enough to start a separate newsletter.

FYI, I/we do not intend to compete in any way with Veronica’s website, community relations, or any of the neighborhood activities. This website functions as a way to maintain contact with all the great volunteers I met during my time in Melrose.
