Collaboration with many voices co-creating Vision for Future of Melrose
We’ve been meeting with a lot of people form the Melrose community, including existing leaders and volunteers, and there are common themes we want to share, though we still have much to learn from all of you. The big themes are:
A lot of people have deep knowledge about topics for which they’d like to be able to drive more impact via collaborative teams, new ways to connect, and ways to understand how our actions translate to clear impact and changes in Melrose.
People want to be more inclusive and find ways to promote Melrose Community Council membership to increase contributions by people from all ages, backgrounds, languages, ethnicity, and beliefs to co-create and design the future of Melrose from share perspectives.
People want to expand focus areas and include more topics for Action Committees to work on together, outside issues that may addressed by policing activities, including topics like gardens, arts & culture, schools, merchants, entertainment, data & tech, traffic, Green Healthy Homes, youth and district-wide development improvements.
We’re working on a series of monthly Community Council meetings that will address building this type of capacity throughout 2019 and into 2020 and appreciate any and all contributions and volunteers to help make these interests come to reality.
