July 5, 2019 results for traffic enforcement operation

We will start posting updates we receive from our Municipal partners and representatives as they ask us to share them with the Melrose Community.

On July 11th, we received the following update from Araina Richards, Neighborhood Services Supervisor with the Oakland Police Department, of the Neighborhood Services Section regarding our request for safer streets. To recap, a collaborative traffic enforcement operation took place from 7am - 3pm on July 5th 2019. The enforcement operation took place on 35th in between Foothill and International and on Foothill between Fruitvale and Seminary. In all, there were 96 citations issued, there were 4 arrests, 7 tows, and 1 firearm recovered.

“Please see the following enforcement efforts by our Traffic Division. In addition, they did spend some time at Foothill & Vicksburg as mentioned at our last NCPC meeting.

All, at the request of Areas 4 and 5, a collaborative traffic enforcement operation was conducted with the Alameda County Sheriff on 05Jul19 in the following areas between 0700-1500hrs

35th Ave from Foothill to International

Foothill from Fruitvale to Seminary 

  • 96 citations

  • 4 arrests

  • 7 tows

  • 1 firearm recovered
